Dean C. Andrew Ramsburg
C. Andrew Ramsburg serves as Dean of Undergraduate Education in the School of Engineering at Tufts University, where he provides strategic leadership and stewardship of undergraduate academic programs, policies, and initiatives. His work centers on advancing educational excellence by shaping key areas of the undergraduate experience, including the first-year curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, advising systems, and the continuous improvement of student learning outcomes. He partners with colleagues across the university to develop, assess, and align the academic, advising, and co-curricular dimensions of the undergraduate experience to support student growth and long-term success.
His current role draws on more than two decades of experience working closely with faculty, students, and academic leaders on matters of academic affairs, faculty governance, and student life. He has served as Associate Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Chair of the School of Engineering Curriculum Committee; and Co-Chair of the Arts, Sciences and Engineering Executive Committee, the Committee on Student Conduct, and the Committee on Student Life.
Dr. Ramsburg also holds an appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where his research focuses on improving environmental quality through a better understanding of transport and reaction processes in complex environmental systems. His work has contributed to the development of technologies for addressing contaminants in groundwater and subsurface environments, with expertise spanning multiphase flow and transport, environmental remediation, and biotransformation processes.
Dr. Ramsburg earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Environmental Engineering and his B.Ch.E. in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan.
