Extreme events

CEE is improving our understanding of how to predict and resist extreme events with a focus on floods, earthquakes, and extreme weather. With increasing global urbanization and climate variability, human exposure to the impacts of natural hazards is increasing and we need to both account for and ultimately lessen the health risks associated with extreme events.

By improving our ability to predict extreme events and their impact on infrastructure, the environment, and society, we can create and manage infrastructure systems which provide greater levels of safety.
