Structural engineering and mechanics

Metal engineering structure

Structural engineering research involves multidisciplinary approaches to the planning, analysis, design, construction, and health monitoring of buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other components of infrastructure. Mechanics of materials focuses on experimental characterization, constitutive theories, and numerical simulations of elastic and inelastic material behavior. The educational program challenges students to master fundamental concepts of mechanics, mathematics, analysis, design, and computational methods.
