Deborah Meshulam

Deborah Meshulam, E79 and EG81

Deborah Meshulam has served as Senior Vice President of Technical Operations at Scholar Rock since August 2022. She is a biotechnology industry veteran and has nearly 40 years of experience, working at companies in their initial, start-up stage. In her current position, Meshulam is responsible for all Technical Operations, including Process and Analytical Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and Quality Control. She has been with Scholar Rock almost from its inception building the technical foundation and the business fundamentals of the group. Scholar Rock is a Phase 3, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company located in Cambridge, MA that is focused on the treatment of serious diseases in which protein growth factors play a fundamental role. 

Prior to joining Scholar Rock in 2015, Meshulam held a variety of engineering and scientific roles, from designing bench scale molecular biology and biochemistry experiments, to developing large scale processes for both early-stage clinical trials and product launch, to designing multi-product commercial biotechnology facilities for such companies as Synageva (acquired by Alexion), ImmunoGen, Genetics Institute (acquired by Wyeth later Pfizer), Biogen, and Genentech (acquired by Roche). 

Meshulam is a Double Jumbo holding an MS in Life Science and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University.  She is the author of numerous publications and patents.
