Professor Christos Georgakis

Professor Christos Georgakis was recognized by the Tufts Arts, Sciences, and Engineering Faculty Research Awards Committee (FRAC) with the 2017 Distinguished Senior Scholar Award. Georgakis has been a pioneer and an internationally recognized leader in the area of process systems engineering. Over his career spanning more than 40 years, he has made seminal contributions by bringing a rigorous numerical modeling approach to solve important problems in the operation of chemical reactors.

This FRAC award specifically recognizes his recent contributions on the design of dynamic experiments, a powerful methodology for optimization of time-varying processes that has already drawn considerable interest from the energy and pharmaceutical industries.
