Beyond boundaries

Jon Levy, E83, is not only a member of the Charles Tufts Society (the community of alumni and friends who have included Tufts in their estate plans), but also one of Tufts' most enthusiastic volunteers. Deeply committed to broadening access to a Tufts education for all deserving students, Jon was one of the first donors to the Financial Aid Initiative; has created an endowed scholarship for the School of Engineering; and recently made a significant planned gift commitment in support of that scholarship, as part of the campaign. He seeks out opportunities for encouraging others to give generously to Tufts as well, serving as a challenge donor for Giving Tuesday; leadership gift chair of his 30th reunion committee; class gift officer; and creator of a Reunion Challenge at the completion of the Beyond Boundaries campaign.

Jon relates how he uses his own giving as a framework for encouraging others to give. His personal philanthropy is informed by his core belief that each generation of Tufts alumni should help provide financial support to subsequent generations of Jumbos. He encourages others to consider their own values, and how a gift to Tufts can advance the causes that are most important to them: "Giving to Tufts is the best ROI you can ever get!"
