Professorships and Fellowships

A professor and student work together in a lab.

A Named Endowed Professorship is the highest tribute Tufts bestows on a faculty member and is an important investment to advance teaching and research across disciplines and in new subject areas. Endowed professorships ensures Tufts students have access to great minds, creative researchers, and engaged mentors.

A named endowed Faculty Fellowship provides support to mid-career faculty members who have not yet received an endowed professorship. The Fellowship allows the Dean to retain and attract great talent who have the promise of being a named endowed professor.

For more information about establishing a Named Endowed Professorship or Named Endowed Faculty Fellowship, please contact Leila Rice, Sr. Director of Development at the School of Engineering at leila.rice@tufts.edu.

Generous donors have established professorships  throughout the School of Engineering's six departments, Tufts Gordon Institute, and the Derby Entrepreneurship Center (DEC) at Tufts. These prestigious awards help us recruit and retain faculty members who are exceptional leaders, researchers, and teachers.
