Georgakis recognized for scholarship

Professor Christos Georgakis was recognized by the Tufts Arts, Sciences, and Engineering Faculty Research Awards Committee (FRAC) with the 2017 Distinguished Senior Scholar Award. Georgakis has been a pioneer and an internationally recognized leader in the area of process systems engineering. Over his career spanning more than 40 years, he has made seminal contributions by bringing a rigorous numerical modeling approach to solve important problems in the operation of chemical reactors.
This FRAC award specifically recognizes his recent contributions on the design of dynamic experiments, a powerful methodology for optimization of time-varying processes that has already drawn considerable interest from the energy and pharmaceutical industries.
