Merredith Portsmore, director of the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) at Tufts University, was recently named an associate editor of the Journal of Pre-College Engineering Education Research (J-PEER).

J-PEER "is dedicated to addressing the need for increased engineering interest, preparedness, and representation; to transforming P–12 education through the inclusion of engineering curricula; to preparing a globally competitive engineering workforce; and, ultimately, to creating a society of engineering‐literate citizens." It is published on an open access basis by Purdue University Press.

The Center for Engineering Education and Outreach is a global leader in enhancing engineering education in K-12 education and into college. Housed at Tufts University since its founding in 1996, the CEEO integrates research on K-through-college engineering education with innovative technology development, as well as with outreach offerings that translate research into services and programs for educators and students.
