Biography
Yingjie Lao is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a secondary appointment in the Department of Computer Science at Tufts University. He received the B.S. degree from Zhejiang University, China, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2015. Prior to joining Tufts, he was an Associate Professor at Clemson University and an IC Design Scientist at Broadcom. His research has been recognized with an NSF CAREER Award, an IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Very Large Scale Integration Prize Paper Award, and an ISLPED Best Paper Award. He is also the recipient of the Best Associate Editor Award for IEEE Transactions on VLSI in 2023. His research interests include trusted AI, hardware security, electronic design automation, VLSI architectures for machine learning and emerging cryptographic systems, and AI for healthcare and biomedical applications.
