Join us May 16-17, 2026 as the School of Engineering celebrates the Class of 2026! Information about the ceremonies, ticketing, and speakers is listed below.

Ticketing

Tickets will be required for guests to attend the Commencement weekend ceremonies. Each graduating student will be allotted up to six (6) tickets for their guests. These tickets (which are complimentary) will serve as a “global pass” for the following Commencement weekend events. Please visit the Ticketing webpage for more information.

Commencement Ceremonies

School of Engineering Graduate Programs Ceremony
Saturday, May 16 at 9:00AM - Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center

School of Engineering PhD students will be hooded by their thesis advisor and master’s students will be individually recognized. The event will be recorded and posted here in late May. Baccalaureate Ceremony
Saturday, May 16 at 3:00PM - The Green

The Baccalaureate Ceremony for the senior class is a tradition that began in 1864. One senior is selected to give the Wendell Phillips Address, and the Tufts University President offers parting words to the class. The event is a multifaith and multicultural celebration honoring a diversity of spiritualities, philosophies, and cultures at Tufts in the form of music, readings, and blessings. All are welcome, and generally all members of the senior class and their families attend. Learn about the Baccalaureate Ceremony.
 

All-University Commencement Ceremony (Phase I)
Sunday, May 17 at 9:00AM - The Green

Phase I of Commencement, in which all Tufts’ schools participate, is the All-University Commencement Ceremony. It includes the Academic Procession, welcoming remarks from the Tufts University President, the awarding of honorary degrees, the all-University Commencement address, recognition of faculty emeriti, the presentation of degree candidates by school, and the conferral of degrees by the Tufts University Board of Trustees. Learn about the All-University Commencement Ceremony.
 

School of Engineering Undergraduate Ceremony (Phase II)
Sunday, May 17 beginning at 11:30AM - The Green

School of Engineering undergraduate students from the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering are individually recognized during this ceremony. Commencement Speakers

Alexis Abramson, E95, EG98, Dean of the Columbia Climate School and Professor of Climate at Columbia Climate School, will deliver the commencement address at the School of Engineering's Graduate Programs Ceremony on Saturday, May 16.

David V. Rosowsky, E85, EG87, Senior Advisor to President Michael Crow at Arizona State University and a nationally recognized leader in higher education innovation, will deliver the commencement address at the School of Engineering's Undergraduate Ceremony (Phase II) on Sunday, May 17.

The speaker for the All-University Commencement Ceremony (Phase I) on Sunday, May 17 has not yet been announced.
