2019 Graduate Awards announced
Four engineering graduate students received awards celebrating their outstanding contributions to academic performance, research, student leadership, community service and citizenship, and undergraduate education. Alumni, faculty, and staff were also recognized for their work.
Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. candidate Amin Nozari was given the SOE Award for Outstanding Graduate Contributor to Engineering Education.
Ph.D. candidates Federica Pierro of Mechanical Engineering and Marlene Wolfe of Civil and Environmental Engineering received the SOE Award for Outstanding Academic Scholarship.
Electrical and Computer Engineering master’s student Jon Manninen received the SOE Award for Commitment to the Practice of Engineering.
Kristen Bethke Wendell, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the McDonnell Family Professor in Engineering Education, received the SOE Faculty Teaching and Mentoring Award.
Emmanuel Tzanakakis, an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering was given the Graduate Student Council Award for Outstanding Faculty Contribution to Graduate Studies.
Kim Ellwood, graduate programs coordinator in the School of Engineering, received the Graduate Student Council Service Award for Administration.
Linda Borghesani (E88, EG90) was given the SOE Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
Ahn Dao Tran-Moseman (E90, EG93) received the SOE Outstanding Service Award.
