Undergraduate students recognized by Computing Research Association
Four undergraduate students in the Department of Computer Science have been recognized by the Computing Research Association (CRA) in its 2024-2025 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Awards program. Cordelia Ludden, E26, was named a finalist, while Klara Chura, A25, Kathy Quintanilla, A25, and Charlotte Versavel, E25, received honorable mentions. This recognition celebrates the students’ remarkable achievements in computing research, including co-authoring papers, presenting at conferences, and developing software artifacts.
The CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Awards program aims to highlight students in North American colleges and universities who demonstrate outstanding potential in computing research. Successful nominees typically excel not only in academic work but also in conducting research that can lead to innovations in areas such as software development, artificial intelligence, and data science. At Tufts, hands-on research opportunities at the undergraduate level, coupled with dedicated faculty mentorship, enable students to explore cutting-edge computing topics and contribute meaningfully to the field.
Formed in 1972, the Computing Research Association brings together more than 250 institutions including academic departments, industry labs, and government research centers to support and represent the computing research community. By advancing shared goals, influencing policy, and championing diversity and equity in computing, the CRA plays a pivotal role in sustaining a vibrant computing research ecosystem that empowers future leaders to address complex challenges through discovery and innovation.
