Biography

Danilo Martins dos Santos is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tufts University, working at the interface of polymer science, nanomaterials, and materials science with applications in biomedical engineering and translation health technologies. His research explores microneedle-based drug delivery, biomaterials, nano/microfibers, micro- and nano-fabrication, chemical sensors, and ingestible biomedical microdevices aimed at improving accessibility to healthcare and supporting decentralized monitoring and treatment.
Throughout his professional journey, dos Santos has contributed to interdisciplinary research efforts at Harvard Medical School, Tufts University, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), and the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry at the University of São Paulo (USP). Across these institutions, he has helped develop materials and tools that bridge drug delivery, biosensing, and materials engineering.
