2025 Graduate Awards announced

Each year the School of Engineering and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences honor their graduate students, faculty, and staff with the Graduate Awards.

The Graduate Awards Ceremony recognizes exceptional graduate students, faculty, and staff for their outstanding contributions. This year two alumni, four graduate students, and two faculty members from the School of Engineering received awards.

SOE alum Sadaf Qazi, EG08, of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was honored with the SOE Outstanding Career Achievement Award.

SOE alum Allison Perkel, E93, EG02, was honored with the SOE Outstanding Service Award.

PhD candidates including Avijit Paul of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and John McElearney of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering were each recognized with the SOE award for Outstanding Academic Scholarship.

Professor and Kentaro Tsutsumi Faculty Fellow Eric Hines of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Professor of the Practice Jack Derby of Tufts Gordon Institute were each honored with the SOE Faculty Teaching and Mentoring Award.

PhD candidates Pan Menasuta of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Grace DePietro of Offshore Wind Energy Engineering won the SOE award for Outstanding Graduate Contributor to Engineering Education. Menasuta’s research focuses on Molecular Beam Epitaxy of III-V photonic semiconductors, using the Veeco GEN Xplor system. DePietro’s research focuses on the advancement of marine renewable energy.
