Tufts students named NSF Fellows
Current Tufts students and recent alumni were among this year’s recipients of Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Fellowships from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Among the fellowship recipients were three people with ties to Tufts School of Engineering.
Ross Cullen Bretherton, E18, is a senior in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. In the fall, he will begin his studies as a graduate student at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Sara Willner-Giwerc, E18, is a senior in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She will be starting a Tufts Ph.D. in Engineering Education with the department this fall.
Steven Robert Woodruff received a Tufts degree in civil engineering in 2017. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan, focusing on the field of structures.
GRFP Fellowships are awarded to candidates who have demonstrated potential to contribute to strengthening the vitality of science and engineering in the United States.
